Three African Events in Melbourne, October 28th-30th

The African Studies Association of Australasia and the Pacific

AFSAAP will hold its 38th annual conference at the Deakin University campus at 550 Bourke Street, Melbourne, from October 28-30, 2015.  Wednesday 28th will be the Postgraduates Day.

The main conference will be held on the Thursday and Friday. Contributors from the ANU will include Cristina Kenny, Ibi Losoncz, Nicola Pijovic and David Lucas together with Nawal El-Gack from the University of Canberra.

DFAT’s Matthew Neuhaus will be a guest speaker at this conference and also at the AAA conference (see below).

Doing Business in Africa: Linking Education with African Opportunity

The Africa Australia Association is hosting a conference on the above theme at Victoria University on October 29th and 30th. Haileluel Gebre-Selassie is the Conference Chair. See http://www.africalink.org.au

The Zimbabwe Information Centre is hosting a reception with Senator Sekai Holland to raise funds for the Zimbabwe National Peace Trust.

Senator Sekai Holland met her husband at the ANU.
She holds many awards including French Légion d’Honneur 2011,
and the Sydney Peace Prize 2012.
